Corporate Design
What Is Corporate Design?
Corporate design (CD) encompasses a company’s entire, consistent visual identity. As a visible component of corporate identity (CI), it conveys the company’s personality and values to the outside world. A well-thought-out corporate design ensures that a brand is recognized and understood at first glance and across all touchpoints.
On the one hand, this includes the fundamental design elements: a precisely tailored color scheme, typography, a clear visual language, and, of course, the logo design as the centerpiece. On the other hand, this look extends across all communication channels—from business cards and posters to the website and social media, all the way to packaging, merchandise, and interior design.
Why is a consistent corporate design so important?
A strong corporate design not only creates brand recognition but also clearly sets a company apart from the competition in the B2B market. It conveys the USP and communicates professionalism and trust. In short: It is the foundation for brand success.
To ensure the look works perfectly across all channels, clear guidelines are needed. These are set forth in a style guide or corporate design manual. From exact color values and font sizes to design guidelines, everything a team needs for its day-to-day work is defined there.
From the design concept to the finished brand portal
Whether it’s a new brand, a brand relaunch, or a rebranding —professional corporate design is the result of a structured process: from analyzing existing brand values to designing a cohesive visual system, all the way through to implementation across all relevant channels and in all formats.
Because brands today must function across all media, a good logo alone is not enough. What’s crucial is a well-thought-out overall system that appears consistent—whether on the website, in social media, at a trade show booth, or on digital brand portals like Frontify. Only when all elements work together does corporate design achieve its full impact.
