Brand Audit
What is a brand audit?
A brand audit refers to a systematic and thorough brand analysis that examines a company’s current branding. The main goal is to identify potential discrepancies between the long-term brand strategy and the actual day-to-day brand presentation.
The focus is on assessing brand consistency across all channels. To this end, the interplay of key elements—such as brand positioning, brand communication, and corporate design —is evaluated. The insights gained from the audit serve as a solid foundation for developing specific areas for optimization and strengthening the brand identity in the long term.
When is a brand audit a good idea?
A brand audit is always worthwhile when a brand is at a turning point. For example, before a rebranding, after a merger, or when there’s a sense that external perception and brand identity are drifting apart. But even without a specific trigger, a regular brand analysis makes sense: markets change, target audiences evolve, and what made sense yesterday may no longer be appropriate today.
The result of a brand audit isn’t an evaluation for evaluation’s sake, but rather a solid foundation for strategic decisions. Whether it’s brand consistency, brand positioning, or corporate design: an audit reveals where a brand stands and where its potential lies.
