For her, design means finding the needle in the haystack. Hidden ideas, clear forms and the one solution that makes the difference. Her aim is to translate clear concepts into a strong visual language that gives brands attitude and makes content tangible.
Before joining Schwarz+Matt®, Jessica worked as a trainee in the design department of a leading brand agency in Düsseldorf. There she worked on the visual staging of festival sponsorships and trade fair stands for international Customers. She found it particularly exciting to “think bigger” about brands, but also to make them tangible in space and not just on the screen.
During her studies in communication design, she discovered her passion for editorial design, typography and visual identities. She designed two of her own typefaces, one of which was inspired by the dialect “Solinger Platt”. She found working with typography particularly exciting, as it was the perfect mix of hard work and detail work for her and allowed her to train her design eye. It also allowed her to engage intensively with her home region and history.
What she particularly appreciates about agencies is the creative exchange, learning from each other and the diversity of projects and Customers. Teamwork is a key driver for her – developing and implementing ideas together is what makes everyday agency life so exciting for Jessica.
In her free time, she enjoys pottery, going to cafés, yoga, fitness boxing and flea markets. Jessica also enjoys traveling. This year she has been to Berlin, Prague, Crete, Lisbon and Porto. Travel, exercise and small discoveries in everyday life are the best source of inspiration for her.
