With Carla Johann, our Branding Unit has a new trainee.

Carla supports the team with her exciting background in the conception and creation of brand designs.

She originally started her career in a completely different way, but after completing her training as a healthcare administrator, her career took a 180° turn and she decided to pursue her great passion: design.

She started a bachelor’s degree in communication design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen in 2019. During her studies, she focused on text and typography, editorial design and corporate design.

Before Schwarz+Matt®, her creative journey took her to a German media group in Hamburg as an editorial design intern. There, her designs were so convincing that she was allowed to participate in the creative realization of a published native advertorial.

Today, the Dortmund native commutes from Essen to our Dortmund office and loves exactly what agency life is all about: lots of variety, interaction with creative people and projects that are always different.

She also likes to be creative in her free time and enjoys analog photography and abstract painting. She likes to organize cooking evenings with her friends and, beyond her creativity, she often has a wanderlust. You can find Carla on city trips here in Germany or abroad.
